Wednesday 13th August a 3/4 and a prep class made Houses for the DeerPark History Mural.
These houses will fill in the end of the mural which shows how Deer Park is filled up with houses now, and with people who have come from all over the world.

After we finished making houses out of clay, some students made houses out of blocks.

or drew a house on a little whiteboard

After we rolled the clay we drew the outline of our house and then the shape was cut out.  An important job was to smooth the edges before doing the rest of the painting
The picture above shows someone carefully smoothing the edges of their house.

we very carefully painted our house with the special paints called underglazes.

Deer Park North Primary School make self-portraits for the mural

On Monday 11th August three 5/6 classes made self-portraits for our mural. These figures will go at the end of the history timeline to show how Deer Park is now full of people who have come from all over the world to live here.

Look at these lovely self-portraits!
